First visit: Initial Consultation
On your first visit to the clinic you will need to fill out some preliminary paperwork. Once the paperwork is completed you will be greeted by your chiropractor. The chiropractor will ask you a series of questions, so they can better understand your pain or symptoms. Your chiropractor will then complete a series of examinations, which include:
- Postural Analysis;
- Skin temperature Differential Instrumentation;
- Static/Motion Palpation;
- Orthopaedic testing; and
- Neurological testing.
Following your examination, your chiropractor may refer you for X-rays (if required). X-rays are taken for the following reasons:
- To detect if there is any degeneration in the spine;
- Rule out pathologies (disease);
- To determine the health of the intervertebral discs;
- Locate bony abnormalities that may complicate care; and/or
- Establish problem areas in the spine.
If you have any previous x-ray’s or scans (even if they are somewhat outdated), please bring them along to your Initial Consultation, as they are relevant to your history.
Please allow up to 45 minutes for your Initial Consultation.
Second Visit: Report of findings
On your second visit to the clinic, your chiropractor will go through a detailed explanation of your exam findings and explain why it is vital to have a healthy spine and nervous system. They will then describe the healing process and the difference between relief care, the strengthening phase, maintenance care, and how these 3 phases of care are important for you to reach your overall health goals. Your chiropractor will recommend an individual treatment plan that is suited for you and provide you with a personalised take-home report.
Please allow 30 minutes for your Second Visit.
Regular Visit:
Once the chiropractor has established your individual treatment plan, you will begin to receive regular chiropractic adjustments that are tailored to your individual plan. With each adjustment you will move one step closer to achieving your goals, and improving the health and function of your spine and nervous system.
Please allow up to 15 minutes for a Regular Visit.
Onsite X-rays
The Spinal Movement provides onsite digital X-rays.
Gonstead chiropractic care involves the precise identification and correction of spinal disfunction. X-ray is often a key part of this process. This system allows us to provide an official diagnosis and rule out serious pathology during your initial consultation when x-rays are clinical indicated.
