Lower back pain is one of the most common reasons that people visit their chiropractor. Lower back pain commonly arises from a pinched nerve, and can be cause by a lumbar misalignment or a pelvic misalignment.
Lumbar misalignment:
Early signs:
Often known as a pinched nerve;
The pain can be sharp or dull.;
Pain bending forward;
Pain worse with sitting and rising from a chair;
Pain is worse in the morning; and/or
Pain improves with walking.
More severe cases may have:
Pain that is referring down your legs, often known as “sciatica”;
Crippling pain that causes you to stand bent forward;
Severe sharp pain on movement; and/or
Pain when coughing or sneezing.
Pelvic misalignment:
Early signs:
Patients typically complain of hip pain;
Pain worsens with walking;
Pain worsens when standing for prolonged periods;
Pain when laying on you back in bed; and/or
Pain that is referring into your hip and buttock.
More severe cases may have:</strong>
Pain that is referring into your groin or testes;
Pain that is referring into your hamstrings stopping above the knee; and/or
